International experts, together with local architects, urbanists, developers and the public members, will discuss the most pressing issues that may arise during the redevelopment of the Podilsko-Kurenivsky Industrial Area.
In mid-August, our company, in partnership with the Urban Curators, will partner with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (hereinafter referred to as MIT) to organize the independent Studio "Post-Industrial Kyiv. Transformations in Ukraine."
The purpose of the Studio is to carry out together with the MIT representatives an integrated urban analysis of the Podilsko-Kurenivsky Industrial Area and to develop scenarios for the area transformation as an industrial heritage of Kyiv.
On August 20-23, a visit by MIT students led by Professor Brent Ryan and Daniel Campo will take place. During these days, we will hold several open events within the CANactions Public Program, the first of which is Daniel Campo's lecture "Postindustrial DIY reclamation". The keynote address of the speech will be the stories of the redevelopment of obsolete industrial sites in Detroit, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and New York. On August 23, Professor Brent Ryan will deliver "The Largest Art" lecture.
Developed as a result of the Studio, development scenarios will help create a new scenario of the post-industrial Podil transformation.
